The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is committed to promoting local employment by recruiting workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals living in extreme poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to BGN, shared that a minimum of 30% of the personnel in each SPPG unit will be chosen from underprivileged households, aligning with the President’s directive to generate job opportunities through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program. Presently, there are 2,378 SPPG units in collaboration with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering to support the program. The MBG Program has already reached over 7.4 million individuals nationwide, catering to students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, and more. In the next 10 days, BGN aims to launch an additional 2,401 SPPG units, with a target of serving around 15 million beneficiaries. This initiative demonstrates a significant effort to create job opportunities and address nutritional needs in marginalized communities.
