Jordan – Indonesian Minister of Defense and President-elect for the period 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, met with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan in Amman, Jordan, on Monday (10/6) shortly after arriving in the country.
The meeting between the two leaders was part of Prabowo’s activities representing Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the high-level conference “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza,” scheduled for June 11, 2024.
“Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh, H.E. Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein. Thank you and I appreciate this opportunity. It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty,” greeted Prabowo.
During the meeting, Prabowo conveyed warm greetings from President Jokowi.
On the other hand, King Abdullah II directly congratulated Prabowo as the elected President in the 2024 presidential election.
He also expressed his gratitude and respect for Prabowo’s presence in Jordan representing Jokowi at the high-level conference on Gaza.
Prabowo stated that Jordan has been one of the most active partners with Indonesia in advocating for the Palestinian people.
“The Indonesian government is also closely monitoring the deteriorating developments in Gaza,” said Prabowo.
“The number of casualties and injuries continues to rise. Indonesia is deeply concerned about the extremely vulnerable conditions of the people in Gaza,” he continued.
