President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, paid his respects at the funeral of the late Major General (Ret.) Eddie Marzuki Nalapraya, a prominent figure in Indonesian pencak silat. Prabowo commended Eddie Nalapraya for his role as a national independence fighter and former IPSI Chairman, highlighting the significance of pencak silat in shaping national character. He acknowledged Eddie’s unwavering advocacy for pencak silat, both within the country and on the international stage. In recognition of Eddie’s lifetime achievements, he was posthumously awarded the Bintang Mahaputera. President Prabowo concluded his remarks with prayers for Eddie’s eternal peace, bidding farewell to the respected figure who had a profound impact on Indonesian pencak silat.
