Kasiono Raih Gelar Doktor, Evaluasi Komprehensif Pembelajaran PAI di SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya

Dr. Kasiono recently earned his doctorate degree after successfully defending his dissertation in the doctoral promotion session of the Islamic Studies Program at UIN Alauddin Makassar on Thursday, April 10, 2025. His research focused on a strategic issue in religious education, particularly in evaluating learning at the junior high school level in SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya in Kabupaten Kubu Raya in 2024.

The dissertation titled “Implementation of Islamic Religious Education Learning Evaluation in SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya Kabupaten Kubu Raya in 2024” dissected how the evaluation of religious education is carried out comprehensively, from planning, implementation, to result analysis, using the CIPP Model (Context, Input, Process, Product).

In his research findings, Kasiono highlighted that the evaluation planning was systematically designed, considering the needs of students and national standards. The Context phase mapped out the objectives and learning needs, while Input evaluated the available educational resources, from teacher competencies to teaching materials.

During the Process phase, evaluation was conducted by monitoring the teaching and learning process directly, including the effectiveness of methods used and active student involvement. The Product phase assessed the final achievements of students using various assessment methods, which then served as a basis for continuous improvement.

“Most students have achieved the expected basic competencies,” Kasiono wrote in his conclusion. However, he emphasized that some students still require intensive support to understand the material more comprehensively.

He also highlighted the importance of enhancing teacher competencies through continuous training and providing more complete and interactive learning facilities. Education policies, Kasiono continued, should be directed towards strengthening remedial measures and adopting a more adaptive learning approach.

His research has made a significant contribution to strengthening the governance of Islamic religious education in formal schools, especially in building an evaluation system that not only measures outcomes but also improves the process comprehensively.
