President Prabowo Subianto received a warm welcome from Khofifah Indar Parawansa, the Chairperson of the Central Leadership of the Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), along with other board members during a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on 14 January 2025. Khofifah shared successful programmes and services implemented by Muslimat NU that have made a direct impact on the grassroots community. President Prabowo praised the initiatives of Muslimat NU, highlighting the importance of their extensive network in ensuring the effectiveness of these programmes. Khofifah introduced two new initiatives, Mustika Mesem (Muslimat Combating Extreme Poverty) and Mustika Darling (Muslimat Environmental Awareness), to be launched at the XVIII Congress of Muslimat NU. Mustika Mesem focuses on alleviating poverty through simple activities like recitation, while Mustika Darling aims to promote environmental awareness through waste management efforts by Muslimat NU cadres. These programs are crucial in addressing issues such as poverty and environmental sustainability. Discussions also centered around the preparations for the upcoming XVIII Muslimat NU Congress, scheduled to be held from 11-16 February 2025 in Surabaya. The congress, expected to draw delegates from across Indonesia, aims to strengthen the organization’s presence and impact nationwide. The meeting concluded with Khofifah inviting President Prabowo to attend the Congress’ opening ceremony on 12 February.
